An American Apparel-Inspired Play Is Coming to a Stateside Stage This Fall

The much-publicized drama between Dov Charney and his former company, American Apparel, seems like a never-ending (and somewhat entertaining) saga—which is why it's no surprise that the controversy has already been translated for the theater audiences. After debuting in the ousted CEO's hometown of Montréal last year, renowned playwright—and Charney's cousin—Oren Safdie confirms that his American Apparel-inspired production is headed to a Stateside stage this fall.

Per Unseamly's Facebook page, the play follows "a young woman [seeking] legal advice to initiate charges of sexual harassment against her former boss, the CEO of an international clothing company known for its risqué billboards." (Sounds quite familiar.) Sadly, the off-Broadway play won't debut in LA, but rather at New York's Urban Stages in early October.
